A garden planted long ago
Its breathless beauty can’t be told
Unending bounty full and free
With just one test of love, a tree
The Tempter hissed a deadly lie
“Take, eat, and be exalted high”
Death came through that rebellious deed
But hope came through the promised seed
In Christ we live and move and breathe
In Him we have all that we need
In Christ we live, His grace empowers
For all He is and has is ours
The branch was barren from within
The curse had withered every limb
Till grafted to the vine life flowed
Producing fruit a hundred fold
You know the promised mystery
Christ in you, the hope of glory
That fallen rebels now could be
One with the Incarnate Deity
In Christ we live and move and breathe
His righteousness, our surety
In Christ we live, His grace empowers
For all He is and has is ours
For all He is and has is ours
